Have a large library at home that my wife loves BUT I do think I would prefer a kindle,

Whats the best way to obtain one here?

Don't mind physical books but when travelling or on holiday, the ability to take so many books with you is what i really like about my kindle.

Not fond of the Kindle, or any electronic alternative.

We're also sitting with a lot of books. Got rid of about half when we had to move out for renovations some years back, but still have about 900-1000. Still love pulling a book from the shelf when I'm looking for a passage, or just paging through some of our older encyclopedias or reference works.

Audiobooks for reading though. No option I see.

Edit: My wife is still making her way through the entire lot and keeps adding to the collection. Otherwise I'd probably have gotten rid of most of it.

For fiction, obviously a kindle. Also being able to read free samples before buying the book helps a lot.

Non-fiction...often I want to page back to something I read or pick the book up a month later to read something I found interesting and that's tricky with a kindle - not being able to flip through pages to find something.

Cannot stand normal books any more.

1. The smell/allergy issue.
2. Can’t adjust the fonts.
3. Can’t read in the dark.
Also picking up a regular book I find myself wanting to tap words to get the dictionary definition.

Full Kindle convert and didn't think I'd miss physical books at all...but my old Kindle keyboard kukked recently and while I'm trying to make up my mind on replacing, I bought 2 soft covers at a bargain books sale.
I was pleasantly surprised to find how much I enjoyed the "experience"

Kindle for the win.

It's a no brainer for me. Get instant access to books, try before you buy, easy on the eyes, instantly look up words, takes no space, and I can carry all my books with me.

Also, a lot of books are cheaper on Kindle than the print version.

Yup most of my 500+ book collection was $1.99 or less.

Willing to bet if I took my 100 odd physical books to a second hand store they would more than pay for my entire Kindle collection.

EreaderIQ is my best friend.

Also really like the idea that with e-books, they don't go out of print. I remember some old titles, mostly South African books go out of print because there is just do demand for a full print run, e-books solve that problem.

I only really read at night, so the kindle paperwhite with the led makes sense to me. Easy to read and easy to get books and recommendations for new books from the kindle store.
