I have been experiencing a lot of dropped calls while driving with my phone set to roam on Vodacom at will. Since I changed the phone to Cell C only, things have improved....

What do most of you do? Stick on Cell C until you are in a zero coverage area and then allow your phone to roam on Cell C, or do you have roaming on all the time?

I keep my phone in '3G Only' mode most of the time. If I leave Cell-C 3G coverage I'll manually switch the phone to dual (2G/3G) mode.

@Richardg Does that not cause you to have signal drops while driving or does Cell C have 3G on all towers? AFAIK if you went into a Cell C area with EDGE only then you would have no signal surely?

I keep the roaming option on and I'm on Cell C. I only really use the roaming feature when I'm in the middle of nowhere on the way to Jozi.

I keep my phone on UMTS Mode, and the network strength and quality is excellent - this i do when I am at home and rural area.
