Do you think Bitco has potential to replace DSTV as an alternative?

I have a colleague that is about to cancel DSTV and install Bitco (ISP Provider). It'll cost him the same however, he can stream video on demand. NO MORE REPEATS, no more DSTV adds every 20 minutes advertising their own programs, no more waiting for a a timeslot to see movie of choice. I wonder how many people are going to take this route. I, myself, am looking into this.

I am currently in the exact same boat. I use Netflix and other streaming sources. And as per my signature you can see I'm with Bitco

Yea, I'm on 5Mbps now and we have about 5 devices connected at the same time doing various things from streaming to gaming and so on. No issues what so ever. I have to add though that the device decoding the streaming seems to be a hit and miss. On the PS3 I get perfect quality all the time. Same with the Apple devices. On the Galaxy Tab though it seems like it has it's moments.

I can't speak for the Roku and other devices though. But I'm sure you can find that out in this section

there are tons of wisps - i use comtel - their 2mb line was great for streaming though I changed to 8mbs cause of simultaneous gaming and streaming

Agreed. If you're not covered by one look for another. I can honestly say I will never use a "wired" solution again if I can help it

Indeed it should be broadband replaces DSTV or Netflix - the OP is using the forum to advertise bitco, but whatever, thats for the mods to pick up.

I have BitCo coming out on the 20th to check LOS and install if there is. I am super exited.

I have never owned DSTV, and I never will. currently I have a 2meg telkom line (holding thumbs for bitco) we stream from streamtvlinks.me or youtube directly. I even watch the Cricket via sky sports 2.

if you are a sports nut and want to watch Varsity cup and domestic 4 day games, maybe stick with supersport.
if you watch the lifestyle channel and big brother, you wont be leaving DSTV.

however if you are a normal person that wants to watch series, movies and not purely sport, and reality TV shows, then leave the past behind!
