And yet they were still happily selling lifetime licenses 4 years ago
I'm inclined to doubt AgileBits ever sold software with a guarantee of updates for life. But I'm happy to be convinced by seeing a copy of the agreement that says they promise to continue maintaining the software for as long as you live.

The copies I bought came with no such guarantee. What I got for my money was a single payment that provided me with a key that would continue to activate that version of the software without requiring any additional payments. In other words a fairly standard software purchase. On the other hand I do have other software that came with an explicit statement that my purchase included the current and all future versions of the product. Even that however provides no guarantee that the makers will continue to maintain the software or release new versions.

That's pretty cool. I'm assuming it still does autofill?
Strangely enough the old Windows Chrome extension still works. It even works with the latest versions of the main product.

Nope, I have a system.. not a shared password but variations thereof based on various things like the site name and a few others criteria like the phase of the moon etc.
Same. An algorithm plus a mental "salt". Using variations allows you to have a sufficiently strong password and at the same time, every single password is unique.

I've never liked the idea of not knowing my passwords ie, using complex auto-generated ones and then they get stored in a manager.

My "more important" passwords are much more hardened. Just remember those off by heart.

Chrome - Google
Gotta try sumting different! One master password? Drives me crazy when some apps dont work in terms of bringing up passwords

I use Padloc App it is the best I have used and can sync between all my devices Mac, iOS, Android, Windows and Linux.
It even has an online browser interface for when you are not at your own PC. the Android interface is also Biometric ready.
It also has company and family profiles too.

For those using bitward, found this interesting, you can now generate email alias

In case you’re not familiar with email forwarding services, they essentially serve as a proxy, stopping online services from knowing your real email. These services allow you to create individual throwaway addresses for every single website you sign up for, with emails directed to them forwarded to your real email address. If you notice that one of them starts sending you spam or other unwanted emails, you can just stop that specific email address from forwarding content to your primary inbox, keeping it nice and clear from spam.

Thanks to this thread I've switched to bitwarden. So far running great but it's going to take a while to get everything moved over. I've gone for the $1 a month option so that I get the vault with attachments.

Just one password for everything what's the problem.

Jokes.

Bitwarden Premium.

Lastpass until the Chrome hiccup.
Then decided that if Google can have my soul, they might as well have my passwords.
All devices covered.
