I've had enough of centralized exchanges, such as Binance, Bittrex, Bitfinex etc. They almost always have deposit and withdrawal issues, they sometimes have to be down for a period of time for maintenance. I don't like the idea that centralized exchanges are at the mercy of governments. Governments can simply shut them down, like what China did.

I'm now using Etherdelta more and more, and only using centralized exchanges when the volume on ED for a particular coin/token are very low. I like the idea of decentralized exchanges being immune to governments. For example, the USA and China won't shut down ED.

What I like about ED is you can get coins early before they explode, like MOD, CFD, DOVU, etc. ED is terrible for trading for newbies, but is easy by working around it once you get used to it. It's difficult and challenging to use at first, but once you know how to use it, it's great. I like that you don't need to worry about passwords, 2 factor authentication, email address, KYC, etc. All you need are your address and private key. I've stored all my cryptos on Etherdelta, I have 2 accounts now, thinking of having 3 to further spread risk.

What do you guys think? I'm fairly new to crypto, so my conclusions might be off.

Yup - also use it to buy tokens early, but once done I send them out to myetherwallet for storing.

The cryptoinsight app can track ERC20 tokens: https://www.trackr.im/

And this is a nice tool for checking balances (sometimes tokens have weird decimals that etherdelta doesn't see): https://deltabalances.github.io/

In both instances just enter your eth address & they'll retrieve the token info.

Lol, found some penis tokens in my etherdelta account...

I buy/sell the people who place orders with fat fingers (People who pay way too much because ED doesn't warn you)

Hmm. Maybe that's what I should be doing with those penis tokens then. Set a high sell price and forget. I get the feeling a lot of people **** up on etherdelta.

Sure is fun using ED with this slow network and gas fees always going up.

I've given up on ED for now, having too many problems

There's this ridiculous delay between a transaction being successful (withdraw, depost etc.) and that amount actually reflecting on etherdelta. All shows up on etherscan, takes ages to show on ed. I know it's slow right now so it's my own fault for even bothering :p. Just wanna set up a sell order and walk away.

5k worth of my funds are stuck on ED. I can't withdraw them or transfer them to an exchange. I think the hackers are still in charge of ED, and probably disabled the function for withdrawals.

Get your funds out?

I've stopped using ED altogether.
Far too many issues and zero response from their staff in response to all these issues.

If you're stuck you can try ForkDelta at your own risk (I've used it).
