Most answers on stackoverflow use it as a demo. Very useful
not just stack overflow, but in most places, because jsfiddle can use so many input languages you will find almost anything has a jsfiddle page.
I have never written my own one from scratch, but I have taken examples adapted them to my needs in jsfiddle then once I got it working copied the things over to my page, effectively using it as a initial compiler for my jquery codes
