Used to back in the 90s, then around 98/99 they removed the bus stop close to me, not sure why, was always full and many using it, guess they just didn't like my money /shrug

Hate it and try to avoid using it in all countries.
:wtf:
I've never heard anyone say that.
I use it all the time in other countries and really miss it when I don't have it. It's such a pleasure to get on functional public transport and to be able to relax and watch the world go by. Never have to think about driving and planning the day ahead.

yup its my primary mode of transport, I am really nervous about driving my own vehicles on the road these days

Yes it's very relaxing having to co-ordinate multiple legs of a trip. I love knowing if I miss one I'm going to have to stand around waiting for the next and it is going to mess with my timing for the subsequent legs of my trip, since each runs on its own schedule. What could be better than rushing onto the platform at 7 pm just as the train heads off down the track and next one only comes at 8 pm? I especially enjoy trips taking at least twice as long and having to watch my bag, because if I put it down and don't keep a close eye on it there is a possibility someone will steal something. And really nothing beats being stuffed into a train carriage with barely enough room to breathe for 30 minutes or more.

Not having to plan the day is one of the benefits of using your own vehicle. Delayed a bit? No problem because the car is still there waiting for you. I've had great fun missing the last train or bus and having to walk home. And then there is the painful hassle of trying to transport purchases home.

As one of my friends from Europe put it, "What I love about South Africa is having my own car and not having to use f**king public transport."

I am naturally excluding taxis. Those of course offer the benefits of your own car without having to drive yourself. And they have none of the overwhelming downsides of busses, trains and other forms of mass transportation.
