I exist only in my own mind ...
How successful and easy is it to use?

Which software is it, part of the OS or 3rd party?

Every now and then I get an itch to try out the Windows version, but I always end up getting too frustrated to persevere!

I know of a few peeps that swear to have great recognition success using abuse-/assault-driven techniques ... but none that successfully use voice recognition.

i know with the inbuilt windows 7 voice recognition you have to 'train' the software. id prefer to het a nice 3rd party (and free) option so that you can copy the files to a new pc, so that you dont have to retrain the software.if that is possible.

I don't use it to control my PC but I use Dragon v12 extensively and it's brilliant stuff. Blows any other 'voice recognition' tool away - and I include Siri, Win7, Google Voice, even Swype's Dragon mode. Yes it takes time to train but not that long and the accuracy is 99% or so. Actually the one who needs training is the user - you need to learn how to modulate your speaking in such a way that it optimizes the recognition systems in Dragon. One has to be rather monotonous and evenly paced.

I used to use it.....In Windows XP. It was easy to setup, and use in Microsoft Word 2003, etc. Now, with Windows 7, 8, It is easy to setup, but I don't know how to set it up in a way so it can work on Microsoft Word 2010, Mozilla firefox.
