Dobroadband level 3

I'm not quite sure what iDOL is describing there. I am guessing he blitzes the blended till only local is left on the account. Then he uses a prepaid as a "browser" account and uses the local on the Do3 to download over the weekend.

I've upgraded and surprisingly it only took a few hours, the new line is amazing, I actually cant believe how fast it is, def recommend it.

when you upgrade to do3, remember to upgrade the cap aswell... or you will be stuck with 2Gb still..
that's what happened to me... until beginning of this month..

Does Telkom allow you to buy extra bandwidth once your cap is up? If so, how much is it per GB?

Well, yes, they do, but I don't know the pricing to be truthful.

Main reason why I won't topup with telkom, the bandwidth expires the next month. At WebAfrica you can buy bandwidth in 1GB increments for around R70 for international, local is R19 per GB. It never expires, you can use it today for a quick download and leave it dormant for 6 months and use it again.

Really cool Imho ;) Signup is easy as well.

So, what I usually do, I've got a Tekom 3GB package, if I get capped I just use WA.

30Gb local make me laugh, whats the point, I think there is one SA site that I visit often and I would have to visit it and refresh it 100 times a sec for the whole month to use the whole 30gb

WOW

uoi need to look around man :p

i also was like you, but then I found a local site in which I got 200GB+ of movies games and music:o

Sorry if this Q seems dumb - I've been out of the loop for a while. Are the Telkom caps still "soft" or have they become more strict on their capping policies?

10GB local for every 1GB you buy from them (excluding topup GBs) i.e 3GB TelkomInternet account = 30GB local after cap. Then they reserve the right to charge R25.50 for each GB you exceed after your allowed local GBs.

Hardish capping on the blended (international access). A 3GB account will get you something over 3GB. How much is as good as anyone’s guess. There is what they refer to as a collective threshold which means you have international access until the collective all use it.

Once blended has been totally used, you then getting access to local only. For every 1GB of blended your account has, you get 10GB local access. The local is “uncapped” in that you could use until the cows come home without it ever cutting you off. However this would be at a significant cost of R25 per gig for every gig over your allocated local access should Telkom choose to exercise its right to bill you.

I get around 1 to 3 Gig extra on my cap....its not regular but its better than being hardcap as with other providers.

Telkom (when their site works) sell extra bandwidth at R64.76 (shaped) and R113.34 (unshaped).....it does not carry over and you dont get a reciept. (only appears on the card statement)

Hi all

I currently have level 2 and was thinking of upgrading to level 3, its 4mb line with 3g limit.

Have anyone got level 3 and how fast is it, will it blast past my 325k line I have right now

As you know by now, its much better than DO2 .... I have also gone with the closer packages and am now paying quite a bit less than I did when I had my 512k ADSL
