Document Tracking Software

Hi All

I provide IT support to a Law Firm and am looking for software that will enable me to:

1) Stick a barcode (sticker) onto a paper based document.
2) Scan said barcode into a software package where I can also give a description of the document.
3) Book said document out to a user thus keeping track of who has it.

Anything out there that meets theses requirements? Not looking to go the full digital route such as Docuware as yet.

No idea but if I guess look at metrofile or docusign

You should be able to assign scanners to users (Motorola) and then just scan with that reader. Assign scanner to each person.

You can then even integrate into CCTV to have barcode overlay on footage and search video based on barcode.

sharepoint online can do that and about another billion other things.
