Does anyone know of a company that specialises in Document Workflow development.

Basically need bulk items scanned, OCR'ed, tagged with metadata & put into a database. Searchable content should them be available via a web interface.

yea, i know of a great company. did the same for us and very happy with the outcome. pop me a pvt msg.

I'm moving into this line at my organisation. Well - proper standards-based metadata digitization of documents, archival creation, and information architecture. There's a lack of qualified professionals in this line. The work can be quite laborious at a librarianship level but the expertise for the project management is what's really needed.

Hi There,
In terms of the document management side you could look at knowledgetree . Their product will support documents as you described it. You would need to establish the schema. They do have support partners in South Africa to assist with the taxonomy and set up. Getting the actual scanning done is the difficult area.
This is because the metadata tagging is very subjective and really needs someone with the knowledge of the documents and their contents.

Regards

Tim
