Still looking for good family car. Anybody out there owns one of these?
The one I'm looking at is the 2012 Dodge Journey 3.6L SXT.
Any thoughts?:)

That 3,6L SXT seems good value but will be heavy on fuel looking also in that price bracket you could consider a Fortuner 2.5 D4D or other similar SUV with a Diesel engine

Historically, everybody will tell you how bad they are, but things are changing fast.

Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler have improved fit and finish on their latest "facelift" models. Also, the newer Pentastar engines are great. I've had nothing but good service from the dealers and the maintenance plan is rather comprehensive. Worth considering, for sure...

One more thing... Depreciation is a slight issue. Consider getting a demo or low mileage used model.

Had great service so far from chrysler sa and never had to pay for any replacement parts, not even for shocks or windscreen wipers.

I drove a Dodge Caliber for 6 years, lovely car. Had the VW/Audi diesel engine, which was fantastic.
But:
Out of maintenance plan/warranty costs are ridiculous!
And my local dealer was shocking...

If I get one it will be a demo 2012 model, so for the next 2+ years no maintenance or warranty problems.
just pop in at a panel beater, and ask how long they wait for car spares, bumper, etc.
Ask merc what does the services cost, under the plan.

I do not think that it is a bad buy at all. You do not really get "bad" cars these days. Obviously the quality is not as good as german models, but it is still a good car. Love the look of it!!

The 2022 Dodge Journey is nothing more than a rebadged GAC Trumpchi GS5
