Hi

Going through multiple adsl routers is starting to get annoying, after two other routers (billion 7300g and a microcom) I have reverted back to my 2 year old marconi which is stuck in bridge mode and cant be accessed via any method due to a bad flash. I am looking for the following

1) The ability to over-ride adsl down syncing or not have the function at all.(my current billion does this since at full speed my snr is only 10 and it likes to keep it at 14 so it downsyncs it to 1.1-1.5 instead of 3074, my other routers did not do this)

2) Router mode and bridge mode being able to be run simultaniously, my microcom could do it but has since locked up, my billion syncs to slow and my marconi does not have the feature.

3) A good gui, I hate cryptic interfaces

4) Good features for running in router mode

5) Stability, I dont want a router that loses settings in power failures or is prone to resets.

6) Wireless that performs well (optional)

If a router like that exists please feel free to let me know because I am highly doubtful that one does.

Yes magneto I would agree with you on that, but point 2 is absolutely essential, all other routers I have tested sync at max speed so I suspect chances of trouble with point 1 are low.

Heh thus the name "does a router like this exist"

by the way which netgear do you have ?

The only problem is that SNR of yours.... Must be atleast 14 - 16.....
Phone Telscum to come and check it and fix the thing!!

I am 4.9km from exchange, I lucky to get the 3mbit I am, 10snr is rock solid for me, have no problems with it, if it was 14snr at 3mbit I wouldnt have posted this thread.

My SMC does most of those - I'd be lost if it didnt do 2.
