using the supplied data cable for N70

it lost 1 cell , while it was connected now. I don't use the phone.

I have never seen any of my Nokia's charge via the USB cable ... including se 9300, 6680 and 6230i ... I don't think any Nokia phones charge via the USB cable

Nope, my N70 battery does not get charged by the USB.

I don't see why you have to use a seperate wire, but there you go.

I have a sony Ericsson and the data cable I have charges the phone when connected to the pc or when connected to the car phone charger that has a usb port.

Bought in the USA, especially made for Sony PDA but works with the phone

I know the K800i (or V800i or whatever it is called) also charges via USB ... but it takes FOREVER! :D

You can get a data cable with a charging plug on it - going to Nokia Vodaworld on Friday to get one - will let you know what it costs.

ok, it sukkks that I now have to keep my phone plugged in on a charger, with data cable into the laptop. This internet connection eats up the battery really fast. like 2 hours or so and the battery is dead.

My SP3i charges via the data cable but you have to install ActiveSync before it will work.

Quite quick actually, about 3 hours for a full charge

Charging cable for N70?

Really, did you find a cable that can act as a data cable, and charge the phone?

Yes, they are available - saw them at have2have too but the sites blocked at work. Has a normal USB plug on one end and two plugs on the other end - one for the charger port and one for the data port.

From Nokia's site:

Nokia Charging Connectivity Cable CA-70
This connectivity cable lets you charge your compatible phone while transferring data to or from your PC. It is especially suitable for multimedia devices that use a lot of battery power when downloading large data files.

Cable weight: 50g
Cable length: 1400 mm

Additional Compatibility
Nokia PopPort terminals with 3.5mm charging connector.
Terminals with new 2.0mm connector (compatible with Charger Adapter CA-44).
Enhancements with 3.5mm plug, 2mm interface (compatible with Charger Adapter CA-44).

I need a plain USB charger for a 6230i no data cable..I use bluetooth to transfer data from phone to PC and vice versa. Now I remember someone saying a while back that you can MAKE you own USB charger..just coil the wires from a USB cord to a charger cord or something like that? Anyone know if it can be done like this? I have a few chargers laying around so it'll be worth a try.
