I was looking at getting a new 9070 XT and been looking at options. So far the Aorus 9070 XT with 4 year warranty seems the most lucrative. However I see alot of people recommending XFX - particularly on overseas websites.

However I see they have a 2 year warranty, I cannot find them having a 2 year warranty abroad, so is this RSA only?

I just fail to see why anyone would opt for a 2 year warranty, when 3 year is the industry standard, even for 'cheap' models?

Did some Googling and seems XFX used to offer a lime-time warranty. A bit odd to go from lifetime to 2 years?

XFX Radeon RX 9000 Series
1) 3 years on Mercury and Quicksilver series graphics cards. With registration of product at the XFX support portal.‍
2) 2 Years on AMD Reference Model graphics cards and Swift series graphics cards.
3) The fans on "Magnetic Air" model graphics cards have a 5 year limited warranty for the only the fans. Parts other than the fans on those model cards are 3 years.

All lifetime warranties are limited. Lifetime applies to the service life of a product; if a product is retired, its lifetime ends. It just adds confusion for the consumer. If a product has a warranty of 2-3 years and is unavailable, a replacement of equal value or a repair will be provided.

This depends on local law and region. In South Africa we have an implied warranty, covered under the CPA. Anything over and above that is an extension covered by the manufacturer.

Aha that is interesting, thanks for sharing, was looking at Wootware and it said 2 years.
That AORUS with a 4 year warranty is looking sexy to me.

Had an XFX 6600GT back in my PC gaming days. It lasted years. 2 years of long enough, it's twice as much as you get on a console...

My partner has a XFX 6950XT - no issues.
As per Enzo Matrix above, if it hasn't failed in the first week or two, it's 'probably' not going to.

I've had several XFX cards myself, for all the brands we can get locally, I'd prefer them over an MSI/Asus.
The hot-swap fan feature is very cool.

Thanks, glad to hear that - it is reassuring. Maybe I will get a cheaper 9070 XT then.
I do see that MSI has apparently stopped making AMD Cards, that's why there's no MSI 9070 XT.

I have an MSI 3080 10GB Gaming X Trio so was a bit surprised to see they don't do AMD.

A gpu which doesn't fail in the first week is likely never to fail. 2yrs is plenty
Even the fans? Doesn't a 'moving part' fail eventually? But yeah I agree. My GPU history is 7850 - > R9 290 - > 1070 ti -> 1080 ti - > 3080

none of them failed. Although i did have a Palit 1030 3GB that did die in a secondary system.

I have only ever had two GPU fans fail on me in my lifetime, and I've had a lot of GPUs.
ATI 4350 & GTX 1060 - was easy enough to get replacements.

For fans, don't really worry about it, they'll be replaceable and I think the xfx ones were a few screws and easy enough access, gamers nexus did a tear down.

I've never had a GPU fail outside of the first month until 4+ years (think it might have been 6+), and I'm unsure how much of that I can attribute to Eskom. Can't think of any friend either unless they did something that would void the warranty.

If it has a 2 year warranty, that's generally good enough, those with longer are probably on select parts, and usually would not fall under it as it will just count as normal wear and tear.

Also have never had any fans fail, only know of I think one friend where it did, and this included me buying cards where I knew the person mined with it.
