Hey, does anyone here own a Nintendo Gamecube? If so, what games do you have/play?

i do own a game cube and i pirate the games :) i have about 80 games in total

Better graphics, yes...and a better controller in some people's opinion.

ive got a gamecube, its really good. However i regret buying it. It has been a mission to get good games, and i couldn't buy online. My favourite games that i own are soul calibur II and need for speed underground 2.

I love my gamecube, graphics are better than ps2 and the controller is great (imo). Game titles are harder to come by than ps2 but its worth it. Did'nt we have this debate a few days ago?

Yup here it is :p

rburley if you even have to ask if nintendo games are better than generic sony ones... you have no idea.

sony is more like licensed titles, where as nintendo develop alot of thier own titles or contract it out to really exclusive developers (used to be rare), the games are really original and fun, thats all nitnerdo do.. make good games, on my ps2 i have some less than good games and then the few good titles that game out for ps2... on nintendo i can honestly say every game i own is great, quality over quantity

I play Mario Kart: Double Dash on GC more than any other game...mainly because I want to complete it. The mirror mode levels are horrendously difficult...Resident Evil 4 and Fifa 2005 on GC rock as well...although neither of those are GC exclusives. RE4 is coming out on PS2 shortly.

Stax in Blackheath are selling the gamecubes at R599. The games are still pricey though - seemed even more than PS2 games. I had though about getting one because the boys have GBAs. I understand that the GBA screen could be used to play the game which means I'd have access to the tv where the PS2 is plugged in rather than having to watch Tekken battles (again)

That stax offer.... there was a catch when I checked it out. The gamecube doesn't come with the controller or something.
So you buy the controller separate and the final cost comes to about R999.
Everywhere else the controller is included in the box and comes in at R999.

So you don't save anything.

got one and have a few classics which wont hit the other consoles ( except for RE4 which the PS2 has been waiting for 8 months )... the new Zelda adventure looks promising but i can see Nintendo pushing it for the next-gen market... Metroid Prime and the Zelda series make the GC a different gaming console...

Slim,

What chip do you have? I'm thinking of importing a Qoob SX and either getting a replacement case or doing a bit of dremelling inside my case to accommodate full sized DVDs :p . And, er, how did you get so many games?

Hi,, where can I actually buy a gamecube and how much would it cost? I found quite a few places who sells the game, but I cannot find a place who sells the console. Btw www.jump.co.za has gamecube games, not bad prices either.

if you are in JHB look at Animeworx at the ex-Randburg waterfront. they have the GC in stock and if you want to know their price call 011 789-8215

Take2 (www.take2.co.za) has got import GC's (no not pirated) going for R1499 together with Resident Evil 4, which is THE game on the GC for showcasing its potential. I myself bought a GC through Junkmail at a very good bargain, and been playing it for over a year now with no problems. The local Nintendo website (www.nintendo.co.za) is also selling hardware and games for all things Nintendo, and I think a GC goes for just over R1000. It is a crappy website though, and I haven't ordered anything from them yet so I wouldn't know what kind of service you'd be getting.

And now for a bit of raving ... I love my GC! I got the uber-huge xbox and the evil Sony incarnate PS2, but my GC is the one I can always count on for some clean fun. If you do get a GC, I recommend getting at least 1 extra controller, if not 3, since the GC is quite the console for party games. I mean, I only need mention Mario Kart: Double Dash!, Supersmash Brothers Melee and F-Zero GX ... you'll get all your friends hooked! If you're not into multiplayer, then single player games you just HAVE to get are Resident Evil 4, Metroid Prime, and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.

It's however bad times to own a GC since it's gonna be hard to come by games. I've raided Toys 'R Us and Reggies with their clearance specials and always scout Junkmail for games. Other than that, your only chance is through stores that will start to import their games, like Animeworx and Take2, since Nintendo is apparently pulling out of supplying games and doing its own thing through its website.

I could go on, but Nintendo isn't gonna pay me any royalties for my efforts :P

My 2c
