Makro is selling a sony walkman that looks like this
can anyone tell me if it keeps your place when you switch it off- not just the track, but the position in the track as well. I listen to a lot of audio books with tracks that can average an hour a each, and ts a pain to have to fastforward for like 20 minutes every time you switch off your player.

Dude that looks very cheap so i would imagine it is very limited. Get an Isomething or other. Quality is what you need.

I am a very happy owner of a Sony MP3 player (though not the one advertised) and it absolutely keeps your place when you switch off, even for days or weeks. This is important to me as I listen to a lot of podcasts.

No doubt you are aware that a Kindle works an absolute treat for audiobooks? It is of course in a different price range....

thanks, yeah I just want something cheap to chuck in my pocket and not have to worry about the screen getting scratched etc.

classical mp3 players are underrated these days because everyone has iphones and stuff. But I can tell you gymming with an hd2 in your pocket isn't the ideal option. The battery life on mp3 players is always good and they just do one thing very well. Don't listen to the haters....

where from? is it the 4GB or 2GB?

sorry a little late- got the 2gb from makro. there is another one that was about 130 buck more expensive, but the only difference was that one came with a clip- to clip onto your shirt or whatever. damn expensive clip.

yeah I agree. people always use the argument that you always have your phone on you, but so what, are you going to press your phone to your ear and listen out the cruddy little built in speaker? if you want to listen you have to take headphones along anyway.
