Hi all.

I'm hoping a few of you will know which game I'm talking about. I ask because I'm looking for somebody to play against / with online.

If you're interested, let me know.

:)

damn this is old school - about 8/9 years ago...
those days i still played with the keyboard, numpad to control axis movements, all 9 keys..
cant do it anymore tho...
tried downloading and running but it wouldnt work on this machine...

blast from the past!

All i remember about Descent 2 is that i used to get really "sea sick" after about 20mins!

If i can find a copy i will give it a bash again...

I fired up decent 1 the other day - brought back memories! It was a super game in its time and is still very playable.

That game was cool. Loved the way there was no direction that is up/down...always changed per room. *Very* confusing but also cool.

Looking at the screenshots, I think I only played D2 not D3.

I remember Descent 1 and 2! Awesome games. I also played the demo for D3, but never got around to purchasing the full version. I would love to play it though.

Wow, people actually like this game! And here I thought I was the only one.

This is definitely one of my favourites, along with Carmageddon.

If you want to get your hands on a copy try Good Old Games (www.gog.com), it costs $6 there. Apparently all GOG games run on XP and Vista, or so they say.

If you already have a copy you can get an updated exe for it (Interplay released the source a while back). These exes support latest OSs and generally improve graphics and netcode and add stuff like effects and mouse support and so on.

The two that I know of:

http://www.dxx-rebirth.de <- never tried this one
http://descent2.de <- the one I use (supports Descent 1 as well)

this game is rad. cant remember the last time i played it... time to dig out the discs

eh. sorre - didnt see previous post linking port sites

I dunno whether I played number 1 or 2. But it was the first "3d" game I got into. Used a jostick. Thats the one where you attack a space station, find your way to the core, shoot it up, and get out before it explodes right?

yeah Human, D1 & 2 you fly through the mine looking for keys to get to the reactor, blow it away and have a time limit to get to the exit while its shaking like carp :)
