http://www.theloop.com.au/ calls itself Australia's largest professional creative community. It'd be neat to have something like that here, no?

It will, but unfortunately SA just do not have enough users to justify such a community. Many creatives will not even be interested in joining such community as they'd rather keep their ideas, secrets, etc. to themselves.

Yep, there has been a number of these websites that came and went, none of them panned out.
