Does Cell C provide time updates via the phone network?

Most phones support time updates (NITZ) from the mobile phone network to keep the device clock accurate.
Does CellC (or any of the other mobile networks in SA) provide this service?

Or should I rather just install a NTP app on my phone?

I have seen this work on Cell-C. I don't know about the other networks.

I considered doing such a test, but if NITZ works simlar to NTP, then it is difficult to check.

NTP gradulally advances or retards the clock to keep the time in sync thus avoiding jumps in time.
Also if the time difference is too big, NTP will not be able to correct it.

Consulting Google...

OK, should have Googled NITZ earlier. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NITZ
Seems like NITZ is not as advanced as NTP and might allows time jumps.

Will do a test later.
