Does CellC actually care about small towns ? I've been emailing them a few times and have not received any email in response. The last person that actually tried to assist was Lars. He got somebody to attend to my query but I have never received an answer. Its no use bragging about all these fast speeds when some places can't even get proper edge speed.

Why invests thousands of rands into an area where profits are non-existent/minimal? That same money can be spent elsewhere in order to reap greater profits.

Look, sometimes that sort of thing just happens.

I have zero MTN and poor Vodacom in the middle of Joburg (next to Wanderers) - but I have good Cell C and OK 8ta.

Frustrating, but what can you do ? At least I'm stuck with the cheaper ISP's :)

And I thought that they cared about everybody...... the other cellphone companies seem to think that there is profits to be made.

It seems like Lars was the only person from CellC that actually cared....he was polite enough to reply to my email but the person he asked to look into the matter well that is another story. I was asked for my co-ordinates and since then no response. In my business I believe that you treat clients/customers all the same.....but well thats my view.....

In answer to the OP's question - no.

Name one large corporation in SA that actually consistantly cares? I doubt any do!

I can guarantee that at least 50% of the off campus students at Rhodes (and Grahamstown) would be interested in affordable 3G (mobile) access. Also, I'll bet we have the backhaul capacity too. Telkom has no no more ports left and isn't keen to fix it - mobile is a total cash cow here and no ones keen :(
