Does anyone know if iBurst is blocking me connecting to another SMTP server?

My website hoster thinks it's my iBurst connection which is stopping me from sending SMTP mail through his mail server from my home connection.

Anyone know?

Can I send my other domains email through iBurst.

This could be the iBurst killer

They are indeed. From their FAQ's page: "SMTP relaying on
port TCP 25 is restricted to authorised SMTP relays only."

This is to stop people from mass mailing SPAM, as far as I understand.

Maybe give them a call and find out whether your preferred SMTP relay can be added to the authorised list.

You're not planning on carpet bombing the world with spam, are you? ;)

Yes, but a phone call to enable an alternative SMTP server is all that is required. I use my Hetzner email account on iBurst

Okay cool.....

codemonkey: what is wrong with carpet bombing with spam?

Glad to hear I can get it opened up though....

@ Gavin : if I catch you carpet bombing my server with spam, then I'll carpet bomb you with roasted, salted peanuts shot from a catty... :D :D
