hi
just want to know does iburst usb modem works with TP_link Portable 3G/3.75G wireless N router(TL-MR3040)?
i have a desktop modem, it works with my other TP_link normal wifi router well, i also have two usb modem, one works with my laptop, one spare, i want to start to use the spare one , but it's usb, so i go to a computer shop and bought the portable router, i was told this is the only one that works with USB modems, and they said it works with iburst(maybe that guy doesn't know). and i did everything to set up, and i tried many way but still not connect to internet. i asked iburst technical support, they said iburst usb modem only works one model of the wifi router, which i forgot the name.
is that true???

I have a TP-Link MR3020 and it does not work with an iBurst ISB modem with the stock firmware.

You should have no problems returning the MR3040 then.

That is correct. The desktop modem will work with any router with a WAN port that can establish a PPPoE connection. The USB modem requires a router that includes the drivers for the iBurst USB modem.

This should be possible with the ROOter firmware, but will still need the iBurst USB driver to be compiled.
