We have business Dsl 1024kb/s pakage and want to know when will Internet solutions have 4mb/s pakage?

What do you mean? What line do you have there? AFIAK the 1024 IS package runs at line speed. So 4mg line = 4 mg ISP.

Unless you are talking uncapped. Then there are 4mg packages availiable.

Any idea on the best 4mb package available ?

we also have is business DSL @ 1MB. Wonder how much more 4MB costs...

afaik its about R2899 not sure excl or incl vat, prob excl

1mbit fiber - R3440 excl
4mbit fiber - R2995 excl

I would guess they might be sending some of the 4mbit over seacom looking at that pricing

But that's just me speculating, haven't heard it from them or anything

well i think its considered an upgrade so I dont see why they wouldnt :)

re

IS told me it is R2990 exl vat for 4mb line. He told me that the line is shaped during the day. vpn and ftp is set to loew priority so that will be very slow.

The speeds will also jump around and wont always be 4mb line.

So what do you think?

I must say the speeds aren't that great during the day, multiple speedtests to IS's rosebank test have at most gotten 2.5mbit

Intl speed test was in the sub 512k region

Have confirmed that the line is syncing at 4096k

Def not in the same range as the normal business dsl (upgraded a client from 512k fiber which used to perform very well)

My own graph (note small k is ment to be big K)

So yes its very shaped, not sure what that means as web browsing is also slow lol.

It's probably very contended

In conclusion its not like the nippy fast IS capped fiber :p

Sounds like crabby deal. Think i rather stay with the 1mb fiber. I like to play online games in the evening and also do p2p.

I upgraded 8 of my 1mbit IS uncapped lines to the 4mbit lines, 4 of them were SAT lines and the other 4 were fibre lines. There is a huge difference and definitely worth while. They do shape the line though, which I don't have a problem with, as they give preference to http, mail etc. but p2p etc are shaped. The speed on the lines differs, on some lines not more than 1.5-2mbit, some of them go to 3.2mbit. Even if the avg is 2mbit for the 8 lines its still a bargain.

Kameelperd, Last week my wife and myself dropped wedding photos at your house. I went to school with your brother, Goodwin. Saw the mast at the house and then realised who you are. :) Your brother used to be heavy into his gappie fish! Last I heard he was in the Police?

Cheers
Chris

I still have terrible speeds, have the technicians working on it though

Thx for posting your experience puts my confidence back into the product
