Does Opera really give you free VPN?

If a service is free; you are the product. They’ll be using all your data.

Yeah there was a tick-list of things Opera wanted to do like monitor your usage, etc.
I unchecked all the boxes but I guess they just find workarounds.

Just pay for NordVPN. It’s reasonably priced and reliable. I use them daily.

That's the thing. I don't really need one, as I don't surf porn, the high seas or movie downloads, etc, but if it was free, well why not, for the odd thing I might need it for.

I don’t use VPN for any of those things, but ok.

Protonvpn & windscribe will give you some free data.

The VPN isn't bad on Opera. Yeah, they monitor stuff if needed, but which browser doesn't? If you're not a pedo, you have nothing to worry about.

I used Opera for a long time but its updates are crap. They update constantly and one of the updates corrupted most of my passwords. Some features also doesn't work like it should and they create bookmark/quick dials as they please. Its ironic since they block ads, but allow advertisers to buy your welcome page.

Their ad block is great on Youtube videos, better than Edge.

Opera VPN is a proxy that will only work in the browser.

Other traffic won't go through it.
