Does Opera really give you free VPN?

This thread brought back some nice memories of Opera, before it was based on Chromium. Website search built into the address bar (I don't mean Google a certain site, I mean use the site's search engine to search the site - very handy for pages which are hidden from Google), built in mail client, built in torrent client, built in IRC client, copy to note, etc.

I haven't heard of it, but I just remembered by favourite feature of old Opera. Right click, Reload Every, (select). It auto refreshes a page based on one of a few presets, or you could set a custom time as low as 1 second and I honestly don't remember the upper limit. It was very handy for forums that didn't have Ajax updates for the "what's new" or for avoiding being logged out for inactivity throughout the day.

I just scanned through the link, it doesn't seem to have the customized search - that's probably the thing I miss the most.

That's the thing. I don't really need one, as I don't surf porn, the high seas or movie downloads, etc, but if it was free, well why not, for the odd thing I might need it for.

When I last went to the Opera in Durban City Hall, there was no free VPN. Just free WiFi.

Then why a VPN?

Anyway.... just know that it slows thing down a lot on Opera when the interwebs are busy 'cos everyone using it is using the same small set of IP's. And too many sites know the identities so cause restrictions.
But ok for very casual use.
