Hi Guys,

I've got a rather upset client whom uses Telkom ADSL and has been hit with a rather nasty bill for out of bundle data usage. They claim they were never notified of being out of bundle and want to get the bill cancelled, i'm not sure where we stand with this. Has anyone had anything similar and how did you deal with it?

Thanks in advance

OOB Shark strikes again! So they have a capped account correct?

Out of bundle ADSL package?
Does this even exist?
I thought this only happened on cell phones?

Yes they are on a 10Gb capped account with Telkom. For the life of me i don't know why Telkom has never suggested moving them to uncapped due to their requirements.

We are talking about the same Telkom right?

They should check what options they have enabled.

Your monthly data usage limit (cap) is the amount of free data included in your internet plan, once you have used that data, you will have to select one of the following:

- continuing using the internet at no extra cost but at a reduced speed.
- Use top-up using your credit card or using post-paid billing up to a predefined data limit which will be billed through your next monthly Telkom internet bill for the amount you exceed.

This is the "how"...

To register for the service, simply go to ADSL usage tracker website on https://secure.telkomsa.net/titracker/ and login with you Telkom Internet username and password

Then click on Post-paid billing on the menu on the left.

Click "Register" and click "Yes" to confirm

You will be prompted for your Cell number, once filled in click "Submit"

Thereafter, you will be contacted by a Customer Service Representative to activate your service

I would assume that to cancel it you would go there and "de-register"?
