Don't go somewhere else. It's a known problem on the Clio 4 and it can be replaced free of charge in some cases. Hammer them to get it fixed for free if she bought the car new and is still newish.
Reports of worn brakes at less than 20k km..

Thanks for this. Sister found the recall letter last night and will be banging on them to sort it out for free or at the very least carry the majority of the cost for new brakes.

Don't worry, Arnold Chatz wanted to smack me for R6500 for OEM pads and labour for just the front set on my Alfa Romeo Giulietta Quadrifoglio Verde. So I bought EBC Yellow Stuff pads from Formula Friction @ R1700 for the front set and fitted them myself. Had everything completed in 45 minutes. The most annoying issue was the amount of brake dust I had to clean from the caliper.

I highly doubt the RS will have drums...
OP did not mention what Clio it was, only a Clio 4 before I made my post.
