I'm looking for advice from someone familiar with USB OTG:
I'm looking to replace PCs with low-end Windows Pro tablets. They will need to talk to a USB printer and keyboard. The new WinPro tablets are coming out without a USB port, but they have a USB micro B port, which on a phone would be used for charging and accessing its internal flash. But with OTG, it can also be used to read an external flash.
My questions are:
- Will USB OTG allow me to connect any USB peripheral (compatible with Windows Pro)?
- If I connect it to a powered USB hub, can I connect it to several USB peripherals?
- I've seen cables that include a USB connector that plugs into a power supply, to power the USB device: does that also allow it to power the tablet at the same time?
It seems incredible to me that a Windows Pro tablet doesn't have a regular USB port, but if OTG works, at least there is a way around this.
