Does USB OTG on Windows Pro Tablets work the same as regular USB?

I'm looking for advice from someone familiar with USB OTG:

I'm looking to replace PCs with low-end Windows Pro tablets. They will need to talk to a USB printer and keyboard. The new WinPro tablets are coming out without a USB port, but they have a USB micro B port, which on a phone would be used for charging and accessing its internal flash. But with OTG, it can also be used to read an external flash.

My questions are:
- Will USB OTG allow me to connect any USB peripheral (compatible with Windows Pro)?
- If I connect it to a powered USB hub, can I connect it to several USB peripherals?
- I've seen cables that include a USB connector that plugs into a power supply, to power the USB device: does that also allow it to power the tablet at the same time?

It seems incredible to me that a Windows Pro tablet doesn't have a regular USB port, but if OTG works, at least there is a way around this.

Also need to know something along these lines - I'm also going to be getting a Win Pro tab soon and will be using them for a business venture. Has anybody on here had experience with this?

If I find anything I will report back here DaveSemm - ultimately I will be getting a OTG cable, USB etc to test this out directly anyway. Also pretty pissed that none of these tablets come with a normal USB port, they should have at LEAST two IMO, but it is like Microsoft to shoot themselves in the foot and makes things complicated. One of the major selling points of a windows tab would be seamless compatibility with current peripherals via USB but it seems they don't want to take advantage of this :(
