Does Vumatel get its bandwidth from Telkom?

Yeah I saw that just after my post.

Nice to know Telkom don't hold the monopoly anymore in this country with regards to internet services.

Quite a few providers do this now...

The Cybersmart offering we looked at was completely end to end, so they trenched from your house to the closest open fiber point (usually DFA) then it comes out at their datacentre and they peer directly with seacom etc at the exchange. No Telkom mess at all.

Correct, Telkom owns the majority of SAT3 though but that's irrelevant.
