Does your PC beat the Steam average?

It's actually a good thing. Thanks to consoles holding PCs back we need to upgrade less frequently so can spend more on our cheaper games :D
 
How do people get by with those specs?

My PC is super A for average and it is way better then those.
 
I was reading the comments before I read the article - and I thought to myself my word these people are arrogant. When I read the article I also LOL'ed. My mom's Laptop is faster...
 
I think you can play, Sims, Sims -Hotdate, Sims Making magic, Sims Vacation, Sims Expansion pack and Sims halloween with those specs XD

Heavy games work fine on 720-768p, low/medium. (Or 1080p and everything high/medium, low on shadows and AA/FFAA/and other unreasonable settings that make decent pc tank)

The games never worked are Mechwarrior Online (game just crashed on login) and Call of Duty: Ghosts (game crashed at certain point and at low settings had glitches everywhere).
 
im running

AMD FX 6300 oc'd @ 4.3 ghz - better they dont really specify what cpu, obvously an i5 would be better..
Sapphire R9 270x - way better
8GB RAM - Same
also running win 7 ultimate 64 bit..

i dont really consider this anything special though if i could afford better my rig would be way better :P

I doubt that. Especially not in games that use all the cores and in things like video editing you should smash an i5.

Stuck on a Laptop?
Except for one laptop all my machines beat it in everything. (exception free HDD space on some laptops due to SSDs).
