Doing multiple PPPOE connections via ADSL router

Hi there

My ADSL router is in PPPoA/PPPoE mode, with the necessary user name and password specified. This is a default internet account for some users. Thus, the default internet account must always be available. How can I create a local PPPoE connection work to override the specified PPPoE account in the ADSL router?

Would appreciate any advice.

Create a manual dial up PPPOE "broadband" connection in the start, connect to , show all connections section

once thats connected, it should override the account in your router for as long as the account is connected

If your router supports Half-Bridge mode then you can create a PPPoE dial up connection on any of the computers connected to the hub with their own login and password ... though from the sounds of it, you want them each to use their own account, in which case you can put the router into bridged mode, where the only way to connect to the internet would be through their own dial-up connections, and the on-board account will not be used.

The router does not support half bridge mode. Creating a PPPoE connection through windows does not work. 'Error 678: Remote computer did not respond'?

Looks like you are trying to use a network locked router (from MWEB for example) that is used for the office network/internet access (say) and you want to access your own local only account as well. This is what I'd like to do as well, but have not succeeded as yet. If you can do it, please let me know how as well.
