Went through all the trouble in buying a Dolby Atmos soundbar to experience the sound, just to find out that here in SA it is only supported on Skyworth smart tv's

Use an Apple TV.
Yeah, no thanks - not upgrading to a 4k version just for Disney Minus.

Tried to watch Rogue one tonight - it starts and then freezes. After all this time. And my OLED TV is fine cos all other streaming apps work perfectly fine with Atmos, 4K, DV, etc

Anyway, Apple TV is apparently **** too. My brother keeps on getting logged out of his app and then when he signs in , he never gets the text message or the voice call. Thanks Disney.

It's a **** implemention for us plebs here in deepest darkest Africa.

Only time I’ve needed to login again is if there was an update.

Maybe three times since launch.

Willing to bet his messages went into his junk filter.

I don't have an Apple TV device but the app is the only one that has supported 5.1 on a very basic setup I have in my room.

Should have gone with the best android streaming box. Nvidia shield pro.

If I am totally honest, I am now downloading stuff off the seas which is available on D- just so I can watch it properly - 4K, Atmos, no stuttering, etc. I paid for my annual sub - so I feel I can do this.

I should be able to murder politicians for not doing what they promised because I pay my taxes

Ask @Dolby he got an Apple TV for this purpose.
Yup - the best experience for Disney+

Even though the Chromecast is Dolby Atmos, it didn't work in anything higher than 5.1.
So, unless they've changed it, I'd still do the Apple TV

On my Samsung TV I haven't experienced many issues actually .

Always Sunny in 4:3 looked horrible though - prefer the 'backed up copy' both in terms of the ratio and the quality
It logged my out once or twice
I had buffering twice as well

And this is 4 months watching most evenings

I'm no expert on these things but I have the Samsung q800 and have just got mi stick 4k (with atmos) as the last mibox broke.

I really didn't know what I was missing without atmos, it's a pretty epic experience and worth the extra money to get it working.

I don't use Disney plus but I have been using flixoid with real debrid or Netflix.

Only on andriod: You can download apktime from here https://apktime.com/apps/ then in the apktime app download flixoid or one of the other apps.

Then you need to pay for https://real-debrid.com/ it's 9euros for 3 months.

Then login to flixiod with your real debrid account so you can get the good streams.

Most 2k stream have atmos, some 1080p streams too and if a program has atmos the sound bar says atmos as you push play.

Anyway I know it's a bit of setup but you only have to do it once. This has been the most convenient way to watch tv with atmos for me other than netflix.

Edit: Morbius is a kak movie but there is a scene in it where he blast sound with his mind and this is epic with dolby atmos

I see now that the LG Disney+ app has been updated and shows Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos/5.1 when navigating the app or selecting a movie, however it doesn't actually output anything more than 2.1 stereo. Is this a step in the right direction?

Will have a look when I remember to check what I find.

It did always do Dolby Vision just not Atmos as I recall.

Use an Apple TV.

So, got my new AppleTV 4K 128GB 3rd gen.

Finally should get Atmos right ???… feck no…. It’s working for all other apps on the ATV. Thanks Disney retards

See my LG WebOS app now shows atmos for certain media but still only outputs stereo.

How bloody useless are these guys??

In other news, Apple Music Spatial seems to be fun
