Hi

My domain used to be hosted with a company called DomainCheap. They got purchased by WebAfrica and my domain got moved over. I haven't really bothered to look up until now, but who is the better choice for Domain/Mail hosting these days? WebAfrica has been fine however are there better options out there at the moment?

Better. Would be domains.co.za

Cheaper/affordable would be cybersmart/afrihost/webspacebar.co.za

Google Apps for Business or Hosted Office 365 Exchange. You really don't need much more than that.

Yes.

Cybersmart is free, afrihost is 20 bucks

Web space bar is 9 bucks.

And it's unlimited email users, plus a domain plus a website

So I assume that takes the Google offering with 30GB of cloud storage out of the equation?

Indeed.

Mega is 50gb and free.

Again.

Google for business is... ??? Exactly for business

Actually, its called Google Apps, and it is not only for businesses. I use it in my private capacity with no issue what so ever.

Again it's not for the average joe.

We use zar here.

And op can get free mail @cybersmart or 9 bucks @webspacebar

Or premium quality and uptime @domains.co.za all in a local tax deductible currency

Google apps work just like the rest. You sign up, you point your DNS entries to Google, and win.

It doesn't matter what currancy you use. You still pay tax on it.

DNS right there what is that?

See not for the average joe.

Average joe:

www.hiswebsite.co.za/email

And bamn

His E-mail is available
OP already has a domain. What ever OP does, he/she will have to point their DNS to the new host/server. Please also don't assume everyone is an "average Joe". You can possibly from one post determine that OP is an "average Joe".

His an average joe

If he wasn't then he would not have asked.

I am actually qualified from certificates to a national diploma in I.T with 10 years of experience. Am I the average joe? Probably not. However there is no harm in humbling ones self and asking for other peoples opinion. I.T is vast, and im happy to admit I don't know everything.

In that case Google Apps is definitely for you.

(apologies)

No apology needed, I rarely ever take offense to anybody. I just want to hear from peoples personal experiences what they think is the better option.
