I am wanting a local (.co.za) domain.
It was previously registered and paid for but never used since 2008 by another company.

I have been keeping an eye on it since december. It has been suspended (statement count 4 / I Cnt 4).
Any idea how long it would take before it is released and becomes available again ?

Hi grantza

I can help you catch the domain when it drops (expires). I have the "skills" to acquire the name when it becomes available. I won't charge you anything for it...

Send me a Private Message with the domain name in question so that I can monitor it for you.

That's easy, I just wrote a little service that checks the domain status and sends a mail as soon as it's available (although I'd recommend using the new EPP system)

@ OP, be careful with people like Inflicted. They might register the domain in their own name and then "sell" it to you. I've burnt fingers like that before

I've done this before, took forever (about 12 hours) after the domain was listed as "available" to actually be able to register it.

It was a domain that I expected the old owner to re-register at any second...

Hi AcidRaZor

I think your warning to everyone about "people like me" is a good one, because there are indeed malicious individuals out there that will try acquire a domain name in the attempt to re-sell it later. Everyone should indeed be very careful of this!

However, I am an accredited registrar on the EPP system and I run a professional business. I have no malicious intentions here.

But thank you anyway for warning everyone, it's important that they know...

grantza: If you still need my assistance, then let me know - I'll be glad to offer my help.
