Am i the only one really pissed off about domain name squatters?
Those people who just buy a good domain and let it sit there doing absolutely nothing just so they can sell it to someone?

Why can't we just buy domains that we KNOW we are going to put to use?
I have had to re-think an entire business plan just because some idiots don't know what to do with these things

Or those who registered Twitter etc... accounts/names and never posted anything or have no posts in the past three odd years.....

Result... its bloody hard to find a nice domain name that will go with a Twitter (etc..) handle

Having said that, have you looked at .CO domains? I believe that is the way to go with the .COM's all bought up

Exactly!!
So damn precise.

Thanks for the idea. I don't know why i haven't thought of .co
Guess i will have to cross my fingers and shuffle through .co domains tonight.

Because people then say .co .what?
Old habits die hard. People still feel the need to prefix www.

If you do website names together with social media ones then this site might be of some help. Just enter the name and it will search domains as well as all the social media sites i.e. twitter, youtube etc....

@murraybiscuit LOL that's a mind opener right there! Yes that is why, LOL

@MKFrost Thanks alot, you're really helping me.

think you can actually take the domain squatters to court and force them to prove that they are going to use the domain name in the near future. they will have to show burden of proof.

don't know if it's worth your time and effort.

Or he could just buy the domain from the squatter

Court could be a long story for a domain. I just have to rethink indeed.Buying it is not an option right now.

I have domains that are only used for EMail, ie no website. But to an outside observer it would appear that they are not being used.

Some Companies use a domain name to re-direct a generic Company site, the domain does not have a site of it's own.

Billy, i know what you are talking about but none of these are companies...
But anyway, i have settled and scored on untaken domain and i feel very happy.

namechk is a good tool :/

Someone registered the .com of my business name and just parked it...I have the other important ones covered. Once a year they mail me that it is for sale....$18000.

:D Smoking the good stuff are we??? Sit on it turdface.

You snooze, you looze ....

I squatted on two handles for a product we use in our business :) ... but I will be handing them over to the company as I did to protect the handles from the (ex) founder of the company who let slip during a conversation that he was trying to get control of previous domains he had (and one included our business domain).

Not convinced this will have much affect for now unless a company is looking at long term planning.
