Hello, I'm wondering, I've heard a lot of people refer to new registered domains as being placed in a so called "sandbox" that it won't show up in Google searches.

I want to know A is this true/the case and B if this is the case, what is the criteria before a newly registered domain start to be shown in searches?

I read that just now (:

Now I need to figure out when you are out of it.

I guess around 6 months. But I want to offer good content as to achieve a "reverse sandbox" effect

Here's a few things you should do first:

1. Stop all link building.
2. Rename all your web pages. When renaming pages, use keyword rich names with hyphens between words. As example: my-new-fitness-page.html
3. Make content changes. Try to re-write articles or add new articles.
4. Generate a new sitemap for your website. You can make use of online services.
5. Go to Google webmasters and add your site and new sitemap.

Now you just need to wait it out.

Cool cool I'm off to re write some articles with a focus on keeping keywords in url H tags and body of the articles

Generally new domains are not sandboxed at all. Chances are good you may have registered a domain that was previously either banned from Google or sandboxed.

If the domain is not sandboxed or banned, you should start seeing it in search results within 48 hours. To speed things up, try one of the following:

1. Add your Google Adsense code to your new website.
2. Add a link to your site from your footer here on MyBB or just post a link inside this post.
3. Go to Google Webmaster tools and add your site there.

If the domain is banned, you are f**ked and you need to write to Google and apply for it to be unbanned again.

Could you fix it so the letters don't just go to the next line?

EDIT: The same no matter how much I zoom in/out or use Edge/Firefox as well. My screen is 1920x1080.

The site I'm referring to here is insideXbox.co.za

And regarding the other one, yes I know it sucks a little. I'm working on it with the theme developer, I'm not completely sure yet why that happens.

But I am aware of it and will get it sorted.

Will you steal my password if I register on your site :p
Sadly a PC gamer only, so would be in off-topic section permanently.

Haha, I won't, actually I don't see it, it's encrypted in the DB as well so there is no way for me too see it also why I can't resend it to you, you'll need to create a new one if you forget it.

Side note: thanks for wanting to Register I appreciate it. A lot.

Yep, it appears the site is definitely sandboxed. It was not banned by Google.

You will definitely need to look at re-writing some articles and also change to friendly URLs. Then re-do your sitemap and submit it to Google.

Well, if you post some self-reviews on games that come out I will most definitely be visiting the site more, so having a small section dedicated to reviewing games when they come out is always a good idea. It also gives you an excuse to play video games as a job :D

EDIT: Only British English allowed :( Where is the American English?

The site is 4 days old though, then regarding the urls I had this debate here previously but could not get a definite answer, apparently whether your URL is human reading friendly or not doesn't offer any SEO benefit

Atleast that's what the guys over at phpbb.org told me when I bugged them about it.

But I will look into it as I prefer it to be human readable myself

Working on it. Hehehe but gawd dammit games ain't cheap...

I will actually need to get people to assist with that.

( the site was built for my little brother, he loves xbox so I decided meh most kids his age does children stuff, so I thought this to be a really cool way to introduce him into IT he sat with with the entire time as we "built" his website)

So that's basically how insidexbox.co.za came to be, it's his Xmas present.

Remember, you need to change the URL structure now to get out of Sandbox.

It should not be a problem at all, but it appears that something happened to this domain.

What is the exact problem you are facing with Google Erik? I see that many of your pages is already indexed in Google and appearing in search results. Do you have problems with ranking?

So I took the plunge, registered/made introduction/posted specs and when I close the page and go back I am not logged in anymore, even though I selected the keep me logged in option.

No no, no problems, I was more asking in general and in the process thought about this site since its so young.

Sorry for the confusion there :)

Mmm, I will investigate this and report back

Let me know if the issue persists, I checked to make sure that the Cookie store path is correct and I also tuned the Time zone finer not sure if a out of sync time might have caused some problems, If the issue persists let me know then I will go have a look at the IP validation rules as certain ISPs trigger it from time to time.
