After many years of hosting overseas I decided to give the local guys a chance.

I chose domains.co.za as registrar for my .co.za & .com domains and found them to be awesome !
Easy to use control panel for managing domains works perfectly as intended.

I then chose a hosting package and I am blown away by the difference in performance.
Probably being local and using SSD drives are what makes the difference.

I had a slight issue with their payment gateways and after a phone call to their billing department this was sorted promptly and efficiently.

Generally, the support these guys give is fast, professional and they seem to be on the ball.

@ domains.co.za - You guys rock ! :)

Been using domains.co.zs for a few years now as well, awesome company to deal with. Will keep on supporting domains.co.za

I want to second the feedback on this thread. Sorted out my **** with gandi in short order, I'm back on the air again.
Thank you Wayne and Dave

Just bringing this up again - several providers had down time today (Afrihost, Axxess, etc.)

Was domains.co.za able to stick to their promise, is their infrastructure different to those other providers? What guarantees can I expect about uptime?

Never mind that. Domains are the best. Never noticed a second downtime, great service, competitive prices etc.

Makes zero sense using a different host. You're exceptionally unlikely to have issues with them.

Wow im with another host which im happy with but from what i read here these guys are worth a look , its strange however you dont see them advertising as heavily as some of the other bigger Capetown and joburg hosting companies.

That's what they all say ;)

None of my clients at domains.co.za were affected and I can vouch for the fact that their service is impeccable.
(considering how critical I have been of AH I hope you realize just how good these guys are)

The downtime at AH and Axxess was the last straw for my clients that were still with those "providers".
Just finished moving them all and waiting on DNS to propagate :-)

Here I am visiting the forum today to as the question: "What domain registrar is rock solid and trustworthy?"

Used domains.co.za since 2015. All perfectly fine since then.
Last tested their response and morale by phone dated 2018.01.08. All was good and healthy.
domains.co.za +1

Best in the business - I work at 3 am and they answer my emails at 3:02 am.

How did you test their morale?

You ask a cat how the bird food tastes.
Ask convoluted questions which cannot have scripted responses.

Just completed a call to herzner. A fresh post will follow.

I moved to them last year after Webafrica screwed up & borked one of our sites. Been as happy as the proverbial pig in poo ever since. Polite, understanding, helpful & all around awesome service - especially for me who doesn't do this for a living, all I want is for my own sites and businesses to be up & running.

After today my wife's company will be moving across - the Afrihost saga today was a mess, made worse by the fact that she was unable to get through to support & gave up after being on hold for 80 minutes.

Phew...80 mins. Never thought anyone would ever wait that long in this day and age. Must've really had a big problem if that was the case.

Yeah, that's where we're at.

Thinking domains.co.za and GSuite should fix the issue.

This here is a developers dream lol. I know of so many times when im working on a clients website ussually late at niht or early hours in the morning and then there is something server side that needs to be changed for me to continue. THen i have to wait until 9am the next morning to make the call....usually im sleeping at this time too.

Need to mention awesome support as always from Domains.co.za

While other ISP's take days to get back to you (if at all) when you log an issue, these guys are proactive and called me to make sure I was aware of upcoming maintenance on one of the hosted servers AFTER they sent a detailed email.

Happy customer :-)
