Domestic worker bonus

Hi all,

We have a domestic worker that comes in 3 days a week. Last year we paid her double for the days she worked in December, and I am thinking of doing the same again this year.

What is a reasonable "bonus"? What do you do?

I think that's a fair bonus. I've done the same thing.
 
whats your daily rate for your domestic worker op? or anyone that has a maid on this topic
 
I just usually work it out as a 13th Cheque, and give it lump sum since our domestic also takes a December break with the rest of us.
 
Our domestic comes twice a week. We put money away every month during the year, saving up for a bonus for her. So December she gets an additional R3000 bonus.
 
Mine comes in once a week. I pay her for the 4/5 weeks in December, the balance of her leave days (1 per 17 days of work..so 3) and then round it up a bit with R300 odd. She earns R190 a day though which is more than most (for 6 hours a day)

Get her one of those R99 buckets frull of odds and ends from pick n pay.
Then put her bonus right at the bottom of the bucket.
 
We have someone who comes in once per week. I pay her once monthly, incl transport costs. For November, I just doubled the total amount. She thus got a bit more than double her daily wage as she's getting her double her transport costs too, but we're more than happy to do it as she is a very reliable and good worker and fully deserves it.
 
Double pay for days worked, non inclusive of the elave days as i don't want to see her when i am also on leave. Also put together a food hamper and send her on her merry way...
 
Double pay for the whole of December (that said she only works for me 1 day a week) so its 8-10 days pay and she's normally on leave from the 15th until early Jan.
 
Double pay, and she usually disappears from the middle of December to the middle of January. So it's effectively more.
 
Our nanny gets a bonus if my wife gets a bonus which has been every year since we employed her.
She does a good job with the kids and house is always clean so well worth it I guess.
