Don't count chickens

So yesterday telkom came out to lay my new adsl lines.we disconnected our telkom line 5 years ao due to everyone in the house preferring to use our cellphones.telkom says there is a problem with underground cabling.i don't understand how this works or effects us.

Now after waiting for over a month,I have to wait another week or two and until this is done I still sit without my line:cry:
 
I'm sorry I'm really stupid but wtf does "don't count chickens" mean?
 
Dont count your chickens before they hatch :D
If the cable is faulty they will have to fix it .If you are lucky they can fix it and not have to wait even longer for them to replace it .
He expected the telkom guys to put his ADSL in to day because they arrived to do that.
 
I am still waiting on them to give me a call out date...and this all because they run the whole show,you can't even log a complaint, for that you wait on the line for an hour....blerrie ......
