Just bought a "new" router from a local PC shop. Thought it was strange when I saw that somebody had written stuff in the manual, but didn't really care too much as I just want to get my internet back up. Funny thing is they left their ISP login details still saved and when I connected everything I automatically connected to some random guys telkom account.

This is really funny. And really please people, if you return something RESET the device to factory settings :D

EDIT: Looks like he left his wireless settings in also. Wireless settings:

Password: 12345678

I lol'd.

Funny, except if you paid for a new router. Then take that **** back.

After having copied down the ISP login details of course :D

lol fail

however how would you copy down the ADSL login details as the password is just ******** etc :p

don't most routers have a backup config file function? I know netgear does and I've changed
routers 3 times with same config file.

My D-Link backs up its settings to a file that opens in notepad. Password is there.

with the firefox/chrome just change the password field to a normal textbox... and you have te password :D

but dont do that, it would be stealing

note: this is just a method, I am not saying you must do it, and I will not be held responsible for any actions taken against you :P

Likely the router could have been broken/have no power and the person returned it for a warranty.
