Don't know which 32" bravia to choose. . .

Hey

I'm a bit confusted. I wana buy a 32" bravia but i just don't knw which one to choose, and this is mainly due to me being unable to decipher what all this digital giberish means so that i can deteremine whether things like the BE 3 (bravia engine) will really benefit me more than a BE 2 for example and if it really matters. i can get a second hand one for R4000. But in the last week game put up a special for R4500.
The 2nd hand one is a KLV-32S400A

i just need some guidance here an arrow in the right direction. I'm mainly going to use the TV for ps3 and blu-rays etc.

When buying 2nd hand your buying someone elses problems. You also most likely will loose any warranty as this only applies to new goods - use to be a 2nd hand buyer for Cash Converters.
 
dont buy such a small one , i did.
Get a bigger one, 40 at least, seriouly, 32 is mickey mouse
 
ya i'm well aware of the warranty and all that etc, but i mean it's a tv it cant break by jst standin ther u know what i mean even though it's obviously better to have the warranty. The only reason im considering this specific model is because it's a good friends and it's been in storage for a while and it is in stil very good condition. However i am a bit sketchy on the 2nd hand thing 'coz i mean 4k isn't exactly a little money for a student you know.
and shot arf that's the kinda things that's the deciders.
damn battmann how i wish i could buy a 40, bt i only hav roundabout 4K, n i dout i'l get a full HD for that price. but it wouldnt hurt 2 scout though.

This all depends on room size and the source. Sitting in a small room with a 42"+ and watching SDTV would be a waste of time. Now sitting in front of a 1080p 50" watching a blu-ray movie is a whole different story.

32" is perfect for a bedroom to play Xbox 360/PS3. Even if it's in a living room, just sit closer, same effect.

Well I have a broken TV in the cupboard that will prove you wrong (broke 1mth out of warranty and was seldom used). Electronic devices are prone to problems and arf9999 nicely pointed out that you will be buying old tech.
 
yor thts now most swak. I think it would be a lot better to just buy a new tv but im sticking to the 32" coz i don't really think i can afford a bigger tv with the features i want. it's for my bedroom. and i'll mainly be playing ps3/xbox, watching movies and connecting my pc to it. I never ever really watch sdtv it's a waste can just download what i want u know wat i mean? I'l stick to the bravia and go for the KLV-32BX300 coz that usb 2.0 ports are quite handy. thanx guys highly appreciated. this definately helped a lot.
 
If you're moving from a old 74cm to 32" then its a massive improvement. A full HD 32" isn't too bad either.

Swopped a 42'' plasma for a 32'' LCD...the 42'' was waaay to big even for the lounge....will rather consider a wall mounted 50'' Full HD plasma for my home at a later stage...

I think 32'' is perfect for a bedroom or small TV room/lounge....
 
I have a 32" Bravia in the bedroom (just perfect) and the 40" (3 weeks old) in the lounge... already the 40" is feeling small :) and the 32" in the bedroom is just right! Going to try convince the missus that this weekend we(I) need at least a 50" in the lounge (going to justify it by saying I will have to get a new stand and things will look better and be tidier :) Both LCD's are Bravia's.
 
How good are the Sony's? I'm not to convinced on their picture quality....any reviews...

IMHO, it depends what you are using it for... For SD TV, I wouldn't suggest any LCD some SD sport can look really bad - I'd rather go for a plasma. For use with a PC (at full HD res) or gaming on a PS3/xbox360 the sony LCDs aren't a bad choice.

Best thing is to compare various LCDs and Plasmas with the source that you will use (dstv (SD or HD), DVD, Console, PC)
 
don't buy the 32S models...they are end of life. The new ones are the 32BX300 or the 32EX400. I would personally go for the EX400 because it's digital.

Or you could go for the EX700 series...they are LED and have built in WIFI

and jst so by the by Mweb uncapped for R219 a month (excluding line rental) toooootaly worth it. . .

Check out the paper-thin Panasonic Z1 Plasma screen with built in wifi...

no cables running up and down your wall. Remote streaming via some wifi media-player box..
