Okay so from tomorrow on I will have an 1Mbps uncapped! YAY!

But I wanted to know that since this is roughly 3 times the bandwidth of the 384Kbps we are use to, is it possible to assign a dedicated 384Kbps bandwidth to me when I game?

Basically what I wanted to know is it possible to when I play online to have all the bandwidth and when someone decides to surf the Internet or whatever the can use the rest of the bandwidth except that little section assigned to me?

I don't know that much about QoS so I don't really know how to set it up or to know if it even works. I have a NETGEAR DG834GUv5 router.

These are the current settings I have enabled:

Priority
QoS Policy for: Battlefield 2 Bad Company 2
Priority Category: On-line Gaming
Application: Add a new Game
Priority: Highest

Specified port range
Connection type: TCP/UCP
Starting Port: 3658
Ending Port: 18126

Yo!

It is very possible, but not all routers support QoS. My router (Telkom netgear) has a QoS tab in which you can prioritize TCP/UDP ports.
