Watched a few games last night, seems the popular picks range from riki,pudge,drow,sf,arc warden, heck even saw a sniper.

Mostly pudge though....my question is, from a support players view, what is the best support against a fed pudge?

I know most people will say warding is the best defense, which is obviously true, but as well all know not all players have very good map awareness, and inevitably the pudge gets fed to **** on occasion.

So what is the best supporting heroes against pudge?

Usually I'll just go lifestealer if no one else counter picks,regardless if we have support or not, but would prefer a better solution support player wise.

Never really thought about it. Wyvern should be good as well as Tusk (support) but direct counter is Huskar and even OD. Can't really come up with more at the moment. Been out of Dota for quite some time now. Curious to see what the warden is all about - will give him a go the weekend to check. :)

Kill everyone else first. Leave the pudge for last. Never initiate on the tank.

Agreed, however getting that message across to 4 other random players very rarely works in the potato bracket I'm in.

OD is also a good counter like Slaugth3r mentioned, just not really a support hero.

Bring your Huskar against my Pudge, hook is Physical damage, add that to Pudge's magic resistance, easiest GG of my life.

From a support perspective would say disruptor is very good against pudge. Although anything with a stun really, Pudge falls off even when he has 5k HP, as long as your carry has done his job and farmed.

Disruptor could work, haven't really given him much though, thanks for bringing that option to the table.

Will play around with him a bit when the enemy picks Pudge :)

Statistically Huskar is a good lane counter for Pudge. http://www.dotahut.com/heroes/pudge if you look at his lane counters. Agreed there are better counters, but he is considered a lane counter for Pudge. Typically Pudge does not level his spell resistance until level 10, so until then burning spear does a heck of a lot of damage to him. Add beserkers blood to that and Pudge will struggle.

Considering nobody knows how to play the new hero decently yet Void and LC get so farmed so fast that his actual abilities don't matter by 30min in :D

Arc Wardens are delicious food for the new Void. :D

Hook is pure damage you plebian :D

Pudge should get rekt against a decent Huskar though. No way to out harass and rot does fsck all against a Huskar so Huskar ends up out-regenning pudge (which is the best way to destroy Pudge).

Pudge actually isn't a decent mid any longer. He can't harass nearly well enough and the other mid heroes have been buffed so much for so long that he isn't as tanky relatively speaking as he used to be. Better off in offlane these days IMO. When I see an enemy go mid with Pudge nowadays I'm glad because I know it is going to mean good farm for our mid.
