How can I play DOTA Allstars over Internet without resorting to Battle.net or complicated slow VPN setups?

Whats the problem with Battle.net?

There are those hamachi servers, check a few threads back for them, but nothing is going to be as big or active as bnet.

dude bnet is so easy to connect to, just run the reg file in the patch on the program! thats it, if u wanna host then u'll need to do some portforwarding, but other than that, it's peanuts... i play every night and i'm a noob when it comes to online stuff!

My copy isn't legal as such, so have not tried Battle.net, which registration file is this? The AI doesn't really stand a chance against me.

DotA_Allstars_v6.43b_AIplus_v1.4.w3x is a very nice AI btw.

The Bnet they run isn't legal as such either, your Warcraft doesn't have to be at all :D

You download the Bnet Gateway editor and Acid W3 to get onto our local server. I explained it with links a while back here so try a search. It's really easy.

It will be explained a few times on www.war3.co.za too I'm sure.

Hey guys, a new Battle.net Dota server went up today, Dawn. :D

Try it out, the IP is dawngaming.co.za, just set it up as exactly the same was the normal server with that for the IP.

It's looking great so far, some new features over the Twilight server etc...
