It's looking great so far, some new features over the Twilight server etc...

I logged onto Dawn to nights ago, only 22 peopole in it. I guess its gonna take some time before things get going in there.

I dont know what is the prob with war3 though. I think its ok>>>>
 
DOTA Offline

Hi all,

Just a quick questioin. Is there any way to play DOTA offline ? ie launch your own server and play againts ai ?

How does DotA_Allstars_v6.43b_AIplus_v1.4.w3x compare to real players? Recently I had a 76 kills 0 deaths against the AI so am wondering how I will fare against real people. Town is empty because all the students who play the game is gone, so can't challenge anyone and my internet link doesn't work that well.
 
The bots is pretty good but it still doesn't mean u will do well with real players.
 
cool thanks mypro-D. I only started playing dota on Saturday at a LAN. It's pretty wicked. Must say Rainbow six and tiberium wars also rocks over lan.

I like Pugna, but when outfitted with the same items as Razor, Pugna does not stand a chance.

2099.4 vs 1894.2 HP
Razor has +6 base armor.

Take in to account that Pugna can do 300 damage a second with his channeling spell, while Razor has a passive attack. 300 dmg/s is nothing against the 635. Neither ward will stop mana regeneration and stop Razor from casting repeatedly, but overall some characters are just stronger. Pugna can't play well against stunners either.

So I have played with other characters but I do like nuking and I do like draining HP from anything instead of spending money on regeneration.

What characters are also *fun* to play with, not necessarily the best and easiest?
 
Do I have to purchase the whole War3 and expansion just to play DOTA?. Would like to get into it but getting these sounds a bit difficult as it is not exactly a new game. PLus hardly worth it if Im only interested in one map.

No, you can use a cracked version as these bnet servers in SA aren't the official ones. But you do need the game and teh Frozen Throne Expansion, it's usually easy to get at any LAN or whereever you get copied games.

Well the details to connect are :

Name: Dawngaming
Zone: 2
IP: dawngaming.co.za

You enter that in bnetgatewayeditor.exe, prob in your war3 folder if you don't know about it. You have to enter it in the war3 tab at the bottom btw. :)

It is still quite small, only a few days old really but it's growing and there's usually a game or two up. It's got some new features compared to the old server, and um.. somewhat nicer admins. :D A new AP system too etc..

Since I moved to Joeys theres no more Lanning for me :(
 
I'm getting pissed off at the AI, Pugna is so nice but Tiny can kill it in an instant if I allow it to get too close. I still win the games because Pugna can damage towers and such, but really I want more player kills.
 
Won't have uncapped at the end of the month, family emigrated and left me the account for this month. I want to leech a series not available among the students. So if you run torrents, the connection is bad. Suppose I can play next month.

shot boet, think i'll give it a shot tonight... i got my cherrie "black bettie" so now i'm a free man till that series is over! happy days are here again! can you spell OWNAGE!
 
oh btw, why dont we swop some imba hero builds to help the NOOBS out... i gotta good 1 for luna! screw the beams, build shiruken and stats, buy butterflies like a mother! OWNAGE is not the word... it's just GAY!
