Dota2 vs LOL vs HON

Made by a DotA fanboy :p might as well have an apple fanboi write why microsoft and linux suck :D

every game has its different playstyles, communities and lore. i used to play a little HON and i've never played DotA 2, but at the same time i can see the people make in regards to LoL when i see them posting inaccurate information about it. if you love something, love it without having to bring everything that is similar to it down

I enjoy LoL, i get trolls that make me want to tear my hair out, in each game with have our own poisonous and toxic community we have to deal with. they can make alterations to one hero and they'll be bombarded with hate mail, or release a new hero and have every troll crawl out of the woodworks ranting how it's a money making scheme

I remember showing Insanity LoL coming from DotA 2, and his immediate concerns were:

"why can't i choose all the characters?"
"where is my courier?"
"where are my teleports?" :D

Lol too flashy and cartoony. I can't tell the difference between a lol team fight and a fireworks show. Dota 2 more meaty and appealing. Also lol hero's or champs are too small for the map. It looks weird.

LoL is a freaking joke honestly, when someone is playing real sh*t in DotA I tell them to go back to LoL.

HoN, i have no opinion of it, i have never played it.

Why is it a joke? :p i don't mind if it's not somebody's preference, but treating LoL as if its easy and for kiddies, i'd love to see people's game history and how easy it was for them :p

HoN is horrible. Way too fast paced, heroes aren't balanced, and if you think Dota 2 or LoL have the most toxic communities you are in for a surprise. HoN's community is a bunch of 12 year old ****tards who will flame you at every opportunity they get. You will want to tear your eyeballs out after reading the kind of insults they throw at you.

Can't argue with this. Am a HoN player myself and the first thing I generally do when starting a game is mute all players (both vocal and team chat). Really irks me, yet I keep going back. Also gave LoL a go, just never got into it.

Thank whoever that im resilient, i just laugh at them and take it like a man.

I found this very interesting/amazing :)

Greetings all,

League of Legends, or LoL, is much maligned by the Dota 2 community. Though I have issues with some of the design choices in the game, I have had, and continue to have a great time with it, and do not consider it an inferior product, only different and for different markets.

That said, I feel that Dota 2 is a more satisfying and fun game in my opinion. I like it much better, and in fact, I started playing LoL to learn the fundamentals with the intention of moving to Dota 2 when I could. I know many people would say HoN is a better place (the original dota was out of the question) to start, but I found the community was much worse (your experience may vary) and more importantly, they had no bots. Which meant I had no way of practicing (practice matches told me next to nothing) without making my team suffer.

In the article itself is a very good look at the differences and similarities, an it's often hard to find a comparison or even a welcoming community when you go anywhere because of the fanboi mentality that exists. I plan on getting DotA 2 sometime this week, and will give it a try in the upcoming weeks, the only difference is that while i have family and friends to play with on LoL, i'll only have 2 friends to play with on DotA :D

The whole dota/lol, well moba thing never interested me until I stumbled upon Smite! A 3rd Person skillshot moba! Pretty cool and the SA community is growing! If you guys wanna have a look lemme know what your ign is, will gladly add you!! :)

i was reading this today

and this as follow on

http://news.mmosite.com/content/201..._storm_is_better_than_league_of_legends.shtml

1) You don’t have to waste time last hitting minions.
2) There are no items.
3) The game is very team oriented right from the start.
4) There are numerous different maps to play on.
5) There is absolutely no way to talk to your opponents.

now this applies to a variety of games like HoN and DotA, not just LoL, but i see that LoL and DotA are the two biggest to hate on.

i noticed a trend where rather than hating on different sports teams and players like in Rugby, cricket, soccer, etc - that most gamers tend to hate on other games? is it more because the game defines the person playing/supporting it

:D :D :D
