I am wondering if anyone out there uses Dotco/Allyoucaneat as their ADSL ISP? I am subscribed to their 30GB Shaped ADSL service for company use which has been sorta trouble free for about 2.5 to 3 years. BUT now I am concerned... I have been over charged by R 740 for two months in a row and after 5 million *read as about 15* phone calls I was not able to speak to the accounts department or anyone other than the guy that answers the phone. Here is the scary part, for the past 4 days their phone seems to be "disconnected"!!! "The subscriber you have dialed is not available... blahblahblah - this is a sure sign of something dodgy going on right? I am about to create a 30GB shaped account with Webafrica, but wonder what i could do to get the total amount of R 1440 which is owed to me from them? Anyone have an idea how to tackle this or in a similar position with them? The only reason why I have stayed with Allyoucaneat was that they allow you to carry over for one month where other ISP's don’t seem to do this. Oh what to do what to do...

how good are you with a baseball bat?

i'd pay 1440 bucks to break a couple of people knees thats on my list.

Hmm, interesting thought... Oh damn, I don't even have an address for these guys! No record of physical address, telephone still seem cut. Their website is still up, not that it helps much (https://dotco.net/allyoucaneat/index.php) I wonder what i would do if i need support from these guys :) - I suppose its time to move to another ISP pronto!!

Well if its any consolation two of my clients use allyoucaneat and have been unable to connect the whole of today, they even sent someone round to their offices here in cape town, and there was no one there!!!! He asked around and was told that they went out for the Day for some reason or the other!! No one answering the phones there!@!@!@

Yup - I think its games over for allyoucaneat... Seems like they have suspended services to all customers as our connection died this morning too. I have signed up with Webafrica today and hope I will be get better service from them. Hmm - would you mind giving me the address for allyoucaneat offices?

I have/had a 30GB account with them too. They've been in some form of chaos for months now it seems; customer support, what customer support? It takes weeks to beg them to take the money from your account. Forget about querying their authentication problems! It's the first time I've come across a company so dysfunctional that they can't even process invoices or debits on time! I'm sure that the upstream providers aren't quite so lenient when it comes time for them to pay their bills; a clue to why they went out of business?

Still, it is very poor manners to just shut up shop without a word to their loyal customers, many who have been with them for years despite the declining service! How hard is it to send an email explaining the situation?

I can't agree more with you. It was a struggle to deal with them for the last couple of months, but still we stayed with them. *Mostly because they allow you to carry over bandwidth - couldn't find another ISP that allow this. Maybe Webafrica will in the future, who knows...

AWESOME! Thanks so much ultra. We will prolly send a letter and go visit them - if they are around...

Our company also had to switch providers. If they cry bankruptcy you may never see your money again, well not without going through a lot of trouble and even then it could take a very long time.

Yup - that be true. I would actually just have liked to put the faces to the names of the people I have been dealing with there - for interest sake. Especially the elusive Johan person - who was never in the office or never ever ever returned my 5 gazillion calls...

Thanks Ultra. +2782 940 9284 = "The subscriber you have dialed blah blah blah". I was so excited to finally speak to Johan, but oh well... LOL

So, hopefully not to far off topic - Webafrica a good provider? Any comments or recommendation?

Just spoke to another company that runs from the same premises, they say the company is closing today, but they still do exist.

Tried getting a contact number from them, but they dont have
