Let the flames begin but please explain the parallels away:

FBI Director Robert Mueller harshly criticized the decision to release the Lockerbie bomber in a letter released Saturday, calling it "a mockery of the rule of law."

Al Megrahi had been serving a life sentence for the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, in which 270 people, including 189 Americans, were killed.

Mueller, in a note to Scottish Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill, said MacAskill's decision to release Abdelbeset Ali Mohmed al Megrahi is "as inexplicable as it is detrimental to the cause of justice."

Speaking in a soft, sometimes laboured voice, the only US army officer convicted in the 1968 slayings of Vietnamese civilians at My Lai made an extraordinary public apology while speaking to a small group near the military base where he went on trial.

Calley, 66, was a young army lieutenant when a court-martial, a military trial, at nearby Fort Benning convicted him of murder in 1971 for killing 22 civilians during the infamous massacre of 500 men, women and children in Vietnam.

Frustrated US troops came to My Lai on a "search and destroy" mission, looking for elusive Vietcong fighters. Although there were no reports of enemy fire, the US troops began mowing down villagers and setting fire to their homes.

The incident shocked Americans and undermined support for the war.

Though sentenced to life in prison, Calley ended up serving three years under house arrest after President Richard Nixon later reduced his sentence.

And the Iraqi ‘My Lai’ is Hidetha. It just keeps happening.

Where's Alantjie with his "The Lockerbie passengers were innocent civilians, the My Lai lot were just gooks, man"?

and were the americans not winning Hearts and Minds whilst the bombers of Pan Am corrupting young minds?

The US has never won hearts and minds, the US followers think they are legends but if you look at what the US army has and is still doing they are a bunch of sicko's. Always the bad stuff is swept under the carpet.

You cannot put men into that situation and expect them not to go bad and start killing and raping innocent people.

Releasing anyone who has killed in cold blood is shocking in my opinion and both these men should not even be alive.

Take them into a field shoot them in the head and bury the bodies, end of story and no tax money is needed to support them.

Well that's just it, the scots themselves don't believe he did it. I'm kinda hoping he releases whatever evidence he 'claims' he has before he dies especially if it uncovers who was responsible just so that we can have a few hrs of reflecting at obama + brown + various fox type news reports to lol at.
