Hi,

As an iBurst user and an iBurst reseller the current situation impacts me on both fronts.

As a user of the service I am experiencing extreme frustration and feel that I am being ripped off by WBS who are currently providing me with an extremely degraded service.

As a reseller I feel that I cannot currently recommend this type of service to my clients. My business reputation is also on the line. I would love to market iBurst as I believe the service has great potential but how can I market a service that does not perform as advertised.

As a subscriber WBS expect me to pay them for a currently inferior service and as a reseller WBS expect me to market their currently inferior service. They also expect me to meet certain targets to remain a reseller but how can I do so when they are not currently providing a service which is marketable.

Also, even as a reseller I have as much trouble getting any response to queries etc. as anybody else.

I decided to post this thread as I have not seen any posts to this forum by other resellers and to bring the plight of resellers to the attention of both WBS and the users of this forum.

Are there any other resellers out there that feel as I do? Maybe as a reseller we have an obligation to not run WBS down, but are they keeping to their side of the deal?

AOpen, I'm not going to ask which area you are in, and from what you say about WBS deciding whether you remain a reseller or not, I am further shocked by WBS' greed.

IMO WBS has actively decided to signup as many suckers as possible (i.e. customers) prior to their official launch, and then provide zero nada zilch in the way of service - it all points to greed on WBS' part - not a progressive company trying to introduce a much needed broadband alternative to Telkomonopoly.

"I agree fully, as a customer of WBS, not one of my queries have been responded to, including the billing issue..."

This somehow seems all to familiar....?

Man ... as someone who watched the whole Sentech MyWireless saga unfold ... all I can say is Deju Vu!

I could go back and pull out threads that match this and many other iBurst threads nearly word-for-word from the MyWireless forum from 6 months ago.

I trust you all signed up on a monthly basis ... if not ... YOU IDIOT :D

I'm very happy with ADSL's performance (not the price) ... solid as a rock.

And except for international access after the cap - might as well be non-access...

so how come you can tell us you're a reseller but not which reseller? It would give your argument a little more weight if you could actually mention a company name, a real name etc.

SLimbo, why would you possibly need to know?

Why should AOpen abandon anonimity to satisfy you & subsequently be victimised by WBS & dropped as a reseller?

Service Improved - But Will It Last?

Thanks for the words of support in particular from ic.

iBurst performance has now improved and I can feel fairly confident of demonstrating the service to prospective clients at the moment - but will this last? What if I go out to a prospective client, set up the connection, get 100% signal, but then, once again, can only demonstrate a degraded service.

Here's hoping WBS don't mess things up again.

Slimothy, in addition to the reason so eloquently given by ic, I would also not want to be accused of advertising myself as a reseller by giving out my contact details. Hope you understand.

ok so basically we've established that you could or could not be a reseller. well thanks for clearing that up, and who asked for contact details??

ummm, is the point of this forum not anonimity? Slimothy, why not tell us your real name, which service you using, what your UTID number is, and your iburst logon? Lets see what WBS does to you :)

Admittedly I have not taken the time to investigate iBurst Reseller requirements & conditions (I assume you are required to purchase X number of UTz to qualify), but could one of the resellers please give a quick summary to clarify...?

A reseller is required to purchase a minimum of 15 UTz within 30 days of signing the reseller agreement, although WBS try to make you purchase all 15 up-front before even activating your reseller status.

This is not too difficult for a large company with a large bank balance but can be a problem for a small or start-up company that would like to provide their clients with what seemed like the best alternative to Telkomonopy for broadband internet access.

If the service lived up to its promise it would be no problem to resell at least 15 UTz within 30 days but the reality hasn't lived up to the promise.
